Than next would be to release the cable from the transmission lever usually a pin or screw or clip is all that hols them on than fallow the cable to the pedal inside and un clip it the hardest part would be the adjustment you just have to adjust till it feels fine and shift smooth than your done good luck

it will slip right out through the fire wall side just as soon as everything is unhooked. It will usually be held on by a pin or sometimes a 10mm or 12mm or 13mm nut that will lock it on there pretty tight than you just have to undue the adjustment nut if its not a hydraulic clutch. I'm going to say that your's is not hydraulic so don't worry about that part just unhook all the pins and remove the nut and undue the adjustment nut and you'll be fine than the new one slips right on and hook it on and due the adjustments and than your back on the road.

How Do I change the clutch on a 1986 240 Volvo station wagon?

You do not need a simple "solution" from an online forum. What you need is detailed service information. I would recommend spending the small fee (under $30/year) and subscribing to the service information for your vehicle at alldatadiy.com. There. you will find step-by-step instructions along with diagrams and lists of any special tools needed to complete the task.

I have a 1986 240 five speed. The clutch pedal is hard to push to engage clutch.

If you know any motorcycle riders, you can borrow their cable lubricating tool and an aerosol can of Chain and Cable lube and clamp the tool to the bottom end of the cable and force lubricant up the length of the cable. Throw a rag on the floor of the car beneath the clutch pedal to catch drips. Look for fraying cable at the bottom end of the cable.
Failing that, you can try replacing the cable with a quality (i.e. not made in China) replacement cable. It is a bit of a chore to replace because it is hard to get your hand up to the top of the clutch pedal arm to disconnect and reconnect that cable. Helps to have small hands. The lower end of the cable beneath the car is easy to do if you have the car up on ramps.
There are problems that can happen within the clutch that will make the pedal hard to press, but you probably don't want to tackle that, mostly because the transmission in this car is really heavy and can hurt you when you are taking it out and putting it back. Also, you will need tools that you probably don't currently own. If the problem turns out to be deeper and you do decide to tackle the clutch job yourself, get a couple of strong friends under there with you to pull the transmission out and later to put it back..

Where is the fuse box for my 1986 pontiac bonneville

It is under the dashboard on the driver side. There is a small cover just above and to the left of the brake pedal that you pull down. The fuse panel is behind that cover. Open the driver door, slide the seat back as far as you can, and lay on your side so that you can get under the steering wheel.

My clutch is not working on my 1986 Clutch Volvo 240 DL. I have to force it into gear. What do I need to do?

If your clutch pedal still feels normal, has the usual amount of resistance when you step on it, then it is time to have the clutch replaced. Once the clutch goes it will be extremely difficult, if even possible, to get the car to go through its gears when running. Don't wait on doing this because every time you "force" it in to gear you are destroying the synchros in the transmission. Keep doing to for too long and then you will need a new clutch AND a new transmission.

WHEN PRESSING THE CLUTCH PEDAL IT GOES ALL THEWAY IN AND I CAN'T PUT THE CAR IN GEAR

Assuming the cable is still good, with a car that old you probably need a new clutch master cylinder.
