Question about 1990 Ford F150
Its an automatic transmission, when I put it in drive or reverse the RPM's jump up and down between one thousand and as high as three thousand RPM. I checked throttle caple and spring and all that and it seemed to be fully opening and closing completely. Any ideas?
Its sounds like your trans clutch plates are wearing out try thicker oil or it may be time for a serious replacement
If you check and drain your oil that's where you'll find your answers its supposed to be bright red not brown or smell like burnt so its a start to begin checking
