Is it bowing cold air? Or is it hot air? The ac compressor will come on if the mode is set for defrost,It is the way it is set up to keep the seals in the ac system in good condition, but it should not come on with heat to the floor or vents.I would think the selector switch would be shorting out.

It's called mixing. It minimizes condensation and helps control humidity. It also keeps a cold windshield from heat shock and vice verse, preventing cracking. when in defrost cycle.

Heat/ac control slider is not going from cold to hot in my 94 corvette

The hot / cold sliding lever is broken on unit. Common problem, the lever is plastic and breaks easily. If you take a flashlight and look inside the lever slot on the top right side you see a post it connects too. You could take a pick tool and move the post closer to you for heat or away for cold air.

90 6speed v8 want cooling fan on radiator to engage at a lower temp can I? and can I change thermostat to lower temp without messing up computer control? she heats up but doesn't overheat in city driving I...

IF the fan is controlled electronically it may be difficult to get a sensor that operates at a lower temperature. If you have a viscous fan hub it is possible to increase the amount of silicone fluid in the hub to make it work more efficiently. If you have an auto transmission then consider an external oil cooler as this will take the transmission heat out of the radiator in effect giving you a bigger radiator. It is possible to get thermostats with various opening settings but you may have to shop around to find one

I have a 1995 Corvette and when I turn the air conditioner on the dashboard vents does not blow cool air

the a/c control is electric for temp control and vacuum for mode control when a leak occurs it defaults to defrost floor .look for a leak or broken vacuum line first then control panel then mode actuator.

PUT A SCANNER ON THE CAR AND CHECK TO SEE WHAT THE COOLANT TEMP READING IS SOUND LIKE THE COMPUTER IS SEEING A WARMER TEMP THAN WHAT IT IS (SAY ITS 40 OUTSIDE AND THE COMPUTER TEMP SENSOR IS TELLING IT THAT ITS 90)

I have a 92 corvette and I have power at the cooling fan relays, but I cann,t get power to the fans. Also the inside heating & air fan doesn,t work either.

mcdevito75 here, At the relays wiggle the wires to see for loose connection, also see if you can jump the fan direct to the battery to see if the fan works., Also the fan relay could be bad, or the temp. Between the relays and fan there is a temp sensor that puts the fan on, jump that and see if the fan works.

With the temp set at 90 degrees its still blows

Noise from rear of car has no relation to no heat. Check the coolant level. I'd guess it's low. If it's full, the thermostat is not working.

1992 corvette - cooling fans do not actuate at temperature.

Do the fans come on when you turn on the air conditioner. I do believe the temp switch for the fan is on the passenger side of the engine above the starter.
