We too have the Audi A4 2004. the diagnostics say there is no problem but the official distributors machinist says that it might be a problem with the TCU. the cost of getting it replaced is very high and they do not asure that it will solve the problem. if not we might need to get the transmition case replaced or fixed. i too think that Audi should fix this. people buy this brand for it's quality, but after 5 years the car has such major problems- it's not right

The same problem. I bought my AUDI A4 2005 CVT couple years ago. For two years I haven't had any problems with my car. A few days ago the PRND indicator began to blink and the car went into the safe mode. A Diagnostics showed that there are problems with TCM. Most Audi vehicles have a problem with it and dealer ask 1200 for replacement plus labor. But I read there is a good alternative to replacement. This is a repair service which completele restore tne TCM for reasonable price. Maybe you guys recommend any repeir service

I have a 2002 A4 with the CVT. Occassionally it jumps when I start first time in the day. It also has started to present a noise in the front end once you get to 55 MPH. I have seen a number of videos on youtube about this ******. I am having problems and some of the symptoms appear to parallel those identified on a number of sites. I have enjoyed this car and would like to continue doing so but am afraid the ****** is failing. I have contacted local transmission shops and they
won't touch this. The Audi dealer won't tell me anything over the phone, want me me to drive the car 50 miles to dealership and give them a blank check. I have talked with a number of rebuilders and they want me to send the ****** or car to
them. Everywhere I turn it appears by the time I do anything it will
cost more than the car is currently worth.
Is their anyone out there that knows this transmission, and is willing
to talk to me or assist me diagonose.
