First, get out the ol' volt ohmmeter. Check the bulbs for continuity, check the sockets for power and good ground. check fuses. check the switch, check relays. Your vehicle does not have any"mysterious"modules...power needs to get to the switch, then through the wiring to the bulbs. armed with your meter and perhaps a test-light, you can easily trace both ways from the switch to the power source and the bulbs. Only thing you need is time and a bit of patience.

Headlight wont work

The quickest way to repair the problem is unplug the plug from the headlight. Then hook up a test light turn lights on.Find your low beam wire. then turn your hi beams on and find that wire. Run the left over or 3rd wire to ground on (body engine or what ever good ground you can find) that should fix the problem.

I left key on by accident. Now engine will turn over but won't start. 1983 jeep cj 7 258 i6.

You should have a ignition voltage resistor that drops your 12 volts to 6 volts for the points in the distributor. There is a chance that this overheated and burned out.

1983 CJ-7 Had someone put water in gas tank? Blew out lines, rebuilt carb and cleaned out, cleaned tank, gas dryer and new fuel, new fuel filter (clear), new fuel pump, replaced rotor cap, plug wires,...

You put something back the wrong way.....any amount of water in the tank, carb or whatever WILL NOT cause the engine not to fire.....check any wiring/rewiring you did for accuracy

Replacing front shackle 1983 jeep cj7

Shackles are pretty straight forward. Remove the existing bolts, change the shackles and reverse the procedure to install. Good idea to change the bushings while you're in there if they are at all questionable. It's best to do this with the CJ in the air, supported on the frame and use a floor jack under the axle to lift/lower the spring in/out of the shackle, one side at a time.

What is the service interval for repacking front axle bearings on a Jeep CJ 7?

It depends on how much you drive it and how it is driven. If the vehicle is driven to and from work only, the bearings are good for a couple of years if you are using good bearing grease. If the vehicle is driven to and from work with some mild off roading, then repacking the bearing every Spring would be recommended. If you are driving this through mud and water that is deep enough for the axles to be submerged, then every time this happens, the bearings should be repacked. Hope this helps.

You said stock height, does that mean you have stock suspension aswell? If I were you I would install stiffer shocks all the way around and add or replace the stock front stabilizer bar with a stiffer one. You may also consider installing more rigid leaf springs in the rear.

Hope this helps
