Limited slip differentials (positraction) are relatively expensive, especially when installing in a vehicle that did not initially come equipped with one. V6 Mustangs do not come with an LSD (limited slip), so it will be expensive. You get 0 horsepower from it; all an LSD does is transfer torque between the wheels to gain more traction during wheelspin and make your car handle better.

Hope this helps,
matt

Why is my traction light coming on and off in my 2003 ford mustang

Could be a bad wheel sensor. Traction comes on when the ABS sees one wheel turning faster than the other. Usually this happens when a bearing is start to go out. If you hear a noise while turning, like a low hum. It would be a bearing. Turning left and hear the noise would be the right bearing. Because you are putting more pressure on it.

2003 mustang when traction control light comes on the car lose power almost like shutting down, when it goes off it pick up speed.

The traction control system DOES cut your engine power when the tires spin. That is by design. The system cuts engine power to stop the wheels spinning and restores power once the wheels regain traction. It feels odd when the tires spin and power cuts out. It's good practice to lift off the accelerator when the system kicks in. Otherwise, if you are on gravel or slick streets the tires may spin, stop when traction control kicks in, and then spin again when power is restored. It is not an "elegant" solution but it does work for the most part.

Can you adjust the timing chain on a 97 ford mustang 3.8 V6 to get more horsepower?

No. There are no adjustments that accomplish that. If you are looking for more horsepower than, bolt on performance is probably what you are after. Less expensive and does the job quite well. This is stuff like timing gear sets, cams, manifolds and FI systems, exhaust headers, and computer reflashing. Look for aftermarket performance on line(you can find a ton of stuff for Fords) and pick the one that best fits your budget. Let me know if you need advice on what you find.

Want to change gears in rear end for posi traction in a 98 gmc25000 is this possible?

It is possible, you just have to know what gear ratio you have in your Sierra. I had issues with my son's rear differential and did the Salvage Yard and picked one up for $250.00 with less then 45,000 miles. Remember new cars end up at Salvage Yards also.

Here are the Pro code for the rear ends to your Sierra and you can match one up at a Salvage Yard.
GQ1 -- AXLE REAR, STD RATIO
GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
G80 -- AXLE REAR, LIMITED SLIP (POSI TRACTION)

HC4 -- AXLE REAR, 4.56 RATIO

Open Your glove box and look inside it. Should be a list of codes on the bottom.
Example: GU6 G80 According to that, you'll have a 3.42 posi

Good luck and keep me posted and call around Salvage Yards, there prices will differ from one to the next salvage yard and don't ask them for a posi rear end. The cost will you more, just search all the SUV's and look at the pro codes in the glove box. Hunt, most awd system SUV will have the G80 rear end.

Good luck and keep me posted.

My traction control button stays on

There is a fault in the system and it should be brought to a qualified technician for diagnostics. It could be anything from a simple fuse to a more serious defect of the traction control system. The only way to find out is to connect it to the appropriate code reader.

2003 mustang showing a traction sign light and the car won't advance when the traction light is on, but it keeps on and off

The traction control feature is malfuntioning and telling the engine not to rev up. It can most likely be one or both of the rear wheel speed sensor failed.
