Well it ends up at the alternator, yellow wire.

Testimonial: "Thanks, but found no yellow wire in area. should wire cunnect to 12 Volts when key is in run position?"

does this truck have an external voltage regulator? how long is the wire. It may not GO DIRECTLY to the alt/voltage regulator but it ends up there. I would hook it up correctly. You MAY hook it so its hot with key on.

Choke dont work

if too rich adjust choke leaner
if too lean, adjust choke righer.

from 1920 to about 1988 , usa, 70 years we did this.
no more. well we do, but most dont now.
i still have 1 twin carb motor cycle and one single carb VW 1968.
both restored.
also the chock heater must work and the choke spring not old.
the old bi-metal spring that is old become lazy,/crazy. kick it to the curb for best experiences.
if water heated choke the water actually must flow here.
if not, it will fail.
there are 3 common types.
electric, needs 12v.
water, needs 180F hot water actual flow.
and exhaust choke stove heater. (a small horror this, dont ask)
there are others, but would need carb name and p/n

I have a 1995 toyota pick 4 cyls 2wheel drive. It has no problem starding, but when I am driving it, it will shut off. I will wait anywhere from 10-20 minutes and it will start again once again as i am...

replace ignition coil and you wont have that problem anymore. coil get hot and will shut it down like that, when it cools down will run again, common problem, good luck

Toyota 22r starts hard and floods. Repalced

It sounds like the carb. float is set to high and /or the needle and seat has some dirt in it allowing to much fuel inside the carb.. This will allow to much fuel into the engine. It seems the carb could use a rebuild and dont forget to replace your fuel filter.I hope this helps.

Idleling of 1984 F250 Ford PU

mcdevito75, That carb, solonoid most likely works with both, electricity and vacum, That blue wire should hook up to that solonoid, look at the plug ans solonoid and see if there"s a point for the wire. If it has broken off yo"ll have to replace the solonoid. Also have the choke system on your truck checked out, if the choke is not operateing as it should this too can cause your problem. Have your local repair shop take a look.
