Disconnect the fuel pump by pulling fuse, relay or connector on pump. Crank engine -- it may run briefly -- crank it again for several seconds after it quits. This will depressurize the fuel system. Charlie

If you can find it, take the fuel pump relay out and try to start it up. it may start and stall. thats ok, OR just loosen the pipe at the filter slowly, the gas will leak out, then it will be ok to remove the filter.

Wheres fuel filter on 200 kia sophia

The filter is actually on the passenger side, right in front of therear tire. It's pretty simple to change, and if you want to avoidexcess fuel spill, it's easy to depressurize the system. Take out thelower portion of the back seat (it should just pull right up, no toolsneeded). This will expose the fuel pump access, next disconnect theelectrical wire running into the fuel tank to disable the pump. Startthe car and let it run until it dies, now you're depressurized. Changethe filter, then reconnect the pump (turn the key on for a moment andthe system should automatically repressurize). That's it.

How to change the diesle fuel filter

Hello,
You will not be able to change the fuel filter as land rover intended... it will be so rusty that you must buy a kit (25 dollars) that will allow you to cut the line and put a new filter in.

spike will pipe in with the link I think wink.gif

depressurized the fuel line by removing the relay in the passenger side with the blue connector. then turn the key and let it turn over for 20 seconds, if it doesn't start, you should be all set

then install the new fuel filter fittings, and fuel filter

I hope it helps.
Thanks

Engine will not rev above 3000 rpm

Inadequate fuel pressure, change the fuel filter first, make sure the car sits for at least two hours before replacing the fuel filter because these fuel lines are under high pressure during the time of operation. The pressure usually decreases over time in the lines but wear safety glasses just the same, I would recomend depressurizing the fuel system first, buy a Haynes repair manual for detailed procedure to be safe. If problem persists go to Auto Zone and ask them to check for trouble codes these codes if present may instuct you in detail to replace the MAF sensor or give you a code that must be looked up to find the problem.

Need to know the location of a fuel filter on a 1997 geo tracker. is it on the frame rail?

Your fuel filter is located under the vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame in the fuel line. Make sure you release the pressure on the fuel system before changing the filter. Let me know if you have any further questions and thanks for using FixYa!

Locate fuel filter on a 1990 190e mercedes

The fuel filter is located under the car just in front the of rear axle near the right side (passenger side if you're in the USA). It's right there with the fuel pump. Make sure you depressurize the fuel line before changing it though. :) Also have a fire extinguisher close by - just in case things get crazy.
