have battery checked, sound like battery weak or battery cables loose or battery post and cables need cleaning has a lot of corrossion.make sure you turn off radio before disconnecting negative battery cable if you decide clean battery cables and battery post, reason for turning off radio to keep from locking out radio play code.have battery tested battery volts should be 12.6 volts.

HAVE BATTERY CHECK.IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF NOT REPLACE BATTERY.IF YES.BATTERY GOOD MAKE SURE BATTERY CABLES IS TIGHT.AND FREE FROM CORROSSION.IF ALL IS GOOD PROBLEM IS IN THE STARTER OR SOLENOID RELAY.TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY CABLES SO YOU WONT LOSE RADIO CODE..

1984 volvo battery light is on

CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE. IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS. IF NOT CHARGE BATTERY HAVE IT LOAD TESTED FOR DEAD CELLS. MAKE SURE BATTERY CABLES IS CLEAN AND TIGHT. FREE FROM CORROSSION. NOW IF BATTERY CABLES IS THE ORIGINAL CABLES. REPLACE THEM. NOW CHECK THE ALTERNATOR OUTPUT. USING A DIGITAL VOLT METER.IT SHOULD BE 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLTS.WITH CAR RUNNING IF NOT REMOVE ALTERNATOR HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AT AUTO ZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO PARTS .BESURE TO TURN OFF RADIO.BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.BECAUSE IF YOU DONT.YOU WILL LOSE RADIO CODE.AND RADIO WONT PLAY WHEN YOU TURN IT ON.
