As a general rule, if the wheel shakes when you apply the brakes, the front disk rotors are warped. If the brake pedal pulses when you apply brakes, the rear brake rotors are warped. So you most likely have warped rear brake rotors. The noise may be that the wear indicators on the brake pads are touching the disks, indicating that you need new brake pads. Given both of these, I suggest a trip to the local brake repair centre is needed.
your rear brakes need servicing!!Those sqeaking noises are from metal pins within the brake pads. They touch the rotor surface when the pads are worn. Usually when brakes are applied they tend to silence the squeal. Inspect the rear brakes for pad thickness. Hopefully this helpd!!
warp rotors tend to make noise at low or high speeds depending on the degree or how badly warped they are, if the brake pedal kick back when you apply the brake then you will have to get new rotors installed
probably a dumb question, but if there is a backing plate, did you make sure it isnt bent and hitting the rotor? you never want to sand new rotors, although i dont think it would cause this concern. i would suggest lightly scuffing up the brake pads. this will eliminate any noise caused by the contact of the rotors and pads. if it goes away then you know its a problem with the pads/rotors.
scoring of only the inside rotors would make me think that possibly the caliper slides are frozen up. make sure they move quite freely on the slides. it is not uncommon for brake pads to score rotors though.
but brake noises at low speeds that dont' change when applying light brake pressure are usually some sort of metal or something contacting the rotor.
depending on the climate where you live, and the quality of the rotors you installed, the noise could definitely be the rotors. run your hand along BOTH sides of the rotors, they should be smooth and have no rust on the pad to rotor contact area. look closely at the inward side of the rotor, it tends to rust on that side the fastest. also, ensure that the brake pad abutment hardware is in place and not contacting the rotor.
brake pads (especially rear) can become glazed. causes can be driving style, replacement of pads and no rotor resurface, or excessive heat due to binding. if you are sure pad life is good u can try to remove pads scuff the pad surface with sand paper and reinstall. if that takes care of the noise u may want to have rotors resurfaced to help prevent re-glazing.
ceramic brake pads are much less likely to esperience this problem.
it could be because they are dirty. also the noise could be the back brakes. if its a squeaking noise it could be that they are dirty or that they are cheep brake pads and for the first couple of weeks they squeak. also when you got your breaks changed did the break shop cut the rotors because that cleans them up and makes the rotors like new.
