Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

My battery died in my 2004 Trailblazer and the person who jumped it hooked the cables up to the fuse box instead of the battery and blew a lot of my fuses inside the truck. All are fixed except a few things. My rear defrost and a/c do not work, my temperature control does not work (it only blows hot air) and I can't control where the heat comes from, it only blows at the top of the dash. I have tried changing the basic fuses for the a/c, heater, etc but that doesn't do it, any other suggestions?

When battery was jumped hooked up backards

Whats the question, if the battery didn't blow up it should be fine, unless it blew a 15 amp or higher fuse in your main fuse box and will not start.

2005 chevy trailblazer was jump started and now all interior electricals from lights to windows to door locks are gone. Any ideas beyond fuses as I checked all of those mini fuses

This is a fairly common problem on Trailblazers. What happens most often is, when jump started, instead of connecting the jumper cables to the battery, they get connected to the studs on the main fuse box under the hood. When this happens, it blows the megafuse in the fuse box.
The megafuse feeds electrical current to most of the circuits in the rear fuse box. If that megafuse is blown, it will have to be replaced, and this should fix your problem. Here is a picture I found on the 'net of the megafuse:

Hope this helps!!

2004 altima it was cross jumped by mistake and made a popping noise..... my car is compltely dead.. i bought a new batery and still dead

Look at the master fuse panel in the engine bay. Pull the Relay/Fuse cover from the box and look to see what blew.

In the future - if you MUST give someone a jump, make sure your car is OFF when hooking up the cables. If there was no huge arcing - then start your car and let it charge the other vehicle for a few minutes or more before trying to start it.

Let's hope you did not blow your ECU.

2004 Trailblazer will not start. Battery and fuses check out to be good.Tach and speedometer jump around when starter is engaged.

It sounds like your battery is ether LOW or the wiring is loose. Check battery cables to be tight and free of corrosion, also check for loose wires to the battery and alternator. if everything is OK, jump start vehicle. If problem persists, take vehicle ot an AutoParts store to have Starting and Charging Systems checked. (no charge).
