Gas or diesel engine? Running low/out of fuel is not good for the fuel pump. Gasoline cools and lubricates the in tank fuel pump. No fuel.... no lubrication or cooling.

1994 chevy 3500 6.9 diesel you drive it acs like running out of fuel half to bleed lines to get air out to start back up

sounds like u got a clogged fuel filter, or you have got a fuel line somewhere that is sucking air in, could be anywhere from the pump back to the tank, if that shows no luck, get a piece of clear hose and put that just before the pump and look for bubbles, the slightest of bubbles will cause it do run rough and stall
failing this and there is no air bubbles i would say your injector pump needs rebuilding but this is rather unlikely unless u have got a fair few miles on it

hope this helps

I put gas in my 2005 3500 diesel truck (chevy) and a mile down the road the truck just shut off. So i pumped out all of the gas, then put treatment and diesel back into the truck. Tried to start the truck...

Did you change the fuel filter or bleed the injector lines? You need to get that gas out of the system if you haven't already. Once the filter is changed and filled with diesel I would loosen the injector lines and crank the engine until the gas is cleared out of the lines. Tighten the lines and see what happens.

I have a 1994 gmc diesel that will ran perfect yesturday and now i can't get it to start. i tryed putting a gas peddle init and that didn't seem to fix the problem.

check to see if there is fuel in the filter if there is none then it sould be the prime fuel pump that sould be on the frame just under the drivers seat...but on the frame of the truck!!!!

1994 GMC Sierra stood for 6 years

Well his first mistake was buying a Duramax Isuzu Diesel... But with that said, Diesel has a tendency to grow bacteria in the gas tank. Flush the gas tank and change the fluids in the engine and you should be fine. You may notice that some of the gaskets on the engine may leak now that they have dried up. they will either reseal themselfs in time or with thightening or you will have to replace the gasket. I don't think that will be the case after only a few years though.
