2003 Tundra has a problem with the gas tank filler tube. You can purchase a new one $114 or change the cap regularly. I fixed mine by taking the rubber gasket from one gas cap and adding it to another. Cleared the code and has be working for the last 3 years.

SOURCE: 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 error

P0442 & P0456= Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)

Basically this code means that the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has recorded an event where the fuel tank could not be negatively pressurized (vacuum).

This could be caused by refueling with the engine on, or this vehicle has a leak in the evaporative fuel system. On Dodge trucks the first suspect is usually the fuel cap is either not tighten correctly to 1/4 turn, or defective.
Those codes are for the EVAP system, the 442 & 456 is a medium leak, check
the gas cap. Check all of your EVAP lines and the charcoal canister. Also check the lines and overflow line from the gas cap to the gas tank. check the inlet hose on the purge selenoid, if you find little black grains of sand (charcoal) the evaporative canister has failed, and it will have to be replaced. You may also have to clean out the selenoid by taking it off and tapping it to get the charcoal out so it will work properly. obviously it will also have to be replaced if you can't get all of the charcoal out.------------

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

SOURCE: OBD 2 codes p0442 and p0455, also smell of fuel from ventalation system

These codes indicate a leak(s) in the fuel system, it can be anywhere, you will have to crawl under and try and see where the leak is, you will need a scanner to turn off the light after repairing the leak(s)

How to fix whatever caused the codes P0441, P0442,P0446

Check and make sure your gas cap is screwed on tightly. Then, check the vacuum lines are attached correctly and not leaking. I would bet one of the hoses came off or you have a hole in one or more. The hoses split with age. Start with these, before changing sensors or solenoids.

Diagnostic code p0442

Hi, a P0442 is Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak). Start with the simplest thing first, make sure the gas cap is on tight. If it is, replace it with a new GM part (not a cheap aftermarket one). If that doesn't fix it, there are more steps listed here:
