Try to move your shifter to nuetral and then see if it will start. If it does then the nuetral safety switch needs to be replaced

Car wont starte

Take the battery and have it load tested. Most places that sell car batteries can do this for you. The battery may not have the amperage to start the vehicle even though it has the proper voltage.

Our van would not start today it just made a clicking sound but when we hooked it up to battery cables it started right up also on the way home the battery light stayed on until we turned off the van???...

bad battery, when car is off at battery voltage should be at least 12.6 or better. less than 12 volts battery is bad. when running, if alternator is good at battery it should read at least 14.1 to 14.7 volts. have a good day !

My husband went to start the van, turned the key the and electricity shutdown and the van wouldn't start, can someone help?

If the electric was there when he got in, then went away when he turned the key, there may be a loose battery connection at the battery. I would open the hood, and verify these cables are tight.Good luck...Coop

the battery light indicates an "battery charging problem" something is with the alternator it could be the alternator belt or the alternator itself

I would have battery checked/charged and/or replaced. Then starter, then alternator checked.

2004 Dodge Caravan won't start...just a clicking noise...

Check the battery first. Just because the lights are on doesn't mean it has enough power to start the van. If you or the van has a volt meter, the battery should read at least 13-14 volts to be good. If the battery is good then the alternator is good and we move on to the starter solenoid. I'm sure it's one of these. Do the lights go off or very dim when you turn the key? If so then battery.

Engine start problems

the problem could be the starter, battery, battery cables, or alternator. the clicking could most likely be the starter going bad if not bad already or the battery weak or bad battery cables, if you have good power to everything else radio headlamps and heater the i would start by replacing starterlet me know what you find.
