Possible that you have a clogged line but more likely that your fuel pressure regulator is stuck open and the fuel is just bypassing the engine and returning to the tank. I would start there.

1992 F350-7.3 4wheel drive is hard to start after changing fuel filter and fuel pump. Why is it hard to start?

indicates fuel leak back and fuel pressure drop
check filter installation for seal not sitting properly, loose fuel line fitting , pump installed correctly (flow wise ), filter installed correctly (flow wise)
air getting in to fuel lines
the thing you are looking for is indicated by the initial hard start but when started runs ok ( good fuel to the engine eventually) and then by the fact that if the engine is allowed to sit for a long period the problem returns meaning that the fuel pressure is not being held
could even be a problem fuel pressure regulator allowing the fuel to bypass ( no pressure =hard starting) then gets enough pressure to run ok but allows that pressure to drain off over time

Fuel filter location

there is no external fuel filter on your jeep, in 1997 they changed the design and put a filter sock over the fuel pump intake in the fuel tank. they only get changed when you end up replacing the fuel pump

Car STILL will not crank after replacing fuel pump by reason of deduction and seems to not be getting gas to the engine & motor will turn over just wont start

Yes, if you hear the pump, the relay is ok. The filter should be replaced, or blown out clear, if you suspect it. A plugged filter will certainly keep the car from starting.

A 460 engine that acts like its not getting enough fuel. Will start but runs as if only on half the cylinders missing badly or such.

Check your running fuel pump pressure. If (as I suspect) it's too low, first try changing your fuel filter. After changing the filter, recheck the running fuel pump pressure. If still low, check you fuel pump pressure regulator. If OK, you may need a new fuel pump.

Also probably would be a good idea to replace you air filter.

Good luck!

Get a fuel regulator test done. I have same truck. Had same problem. 1 place told me my trans was bad. Another told me cataltic convertor was bad and that the fuel was coming ok when truck was started but when the gas peddle was down the amount of gas per second went down. Fuel pump is your answer. I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter and nothing else and she drives fine now.i hope this helps. My girl friends saturn was doing the same thing. Fuel pump and fuel filter, runs a heck of allot better now.

Ford 460 loses power then dies. Starts back up. Idles fine.

It sounds like you might have a clogged catalatic converter on the exhaust system.

ok could be a few things.

Have you changed the inline fuel filter? these usually have paper filter elements and after a while can be clogged with moisture which blocks fuel flow. The fuel pump will still have good pressure but the fuel rail will lack the flow required and you may burn out an injector as its running too lean. Secondly, the MAF sensor, could be dirty, clean it with electrical cleaner.

I think its more likeylt the fuel filter blocked. Try and bypass it if possible, reset the ECU and try agiain

Have your battery checked - could have dead cells. Even though you have changed fuel pump and filter is fuel getting through could be a blocked line.
