The engine will no crank , want to verify what you got happening Here . Do you have a crank - no start or a no crank no start ? Some people on here get this mixed up ! Or when you turn the key to the start position does anything happen ! If when you turn the key to the start position an nothing happens , check the start relay in the under hood fuse / relay box . # 22 also check fuse 30 - F107 40 amp , Do you know what a relay is ? Also check fuse F237 15amp fuse in the central junction box inside the car under the dash , could be left or right side .The shifter not aligned how , not in park ?

no engine option size stated, so i wing it..(generic is harder)
ok battery changed, no need for jumper cables now.
engine cranks robustly.
so no fire, i hate to tell you that word means (NOTHING)
there is fire to each spark plug (tip spark = fire) then there
is combustion fire , a goal on all cylinders.
so use the word spark , you then check spark at all cylinders.
if spark is gone on 1 cylinder work that.
if spark is gone on all cylinder we then scan the ECU.
RULE 1, no EFI car , runs fueling unit (IT) thinks(sic) there is spark (3 way checks) this is Crash and fire protection on call cars.
most books fail to say this very important feature in all modern cars.
so that is why spark is 1st. never ever done last.
you crank engine for 5 seconds.
release key, not off. the key yet.
and the scan tool, shows P0340/355 or any codes relate to spark
CMP./CKP ,etc.
and the rpm shows 250RPM cranking, yes,the scan tool can see
RPM cranking and is a TOP check , missed by many noobs.

so now you have spark
on all cylinders.
we cross fingers #1 is good, 150PSI compression on all cylinders, min.
and blame fueling.
A: is it flooding or starving???? the spark tips (i bet its tunedup, huh)
are dry or wet.
B: more later if you get this far.

just oneline says it. for 100 years now. (otto cycle engines)
(cranks ok, compression good, spark good x4,x6, fueling last)

Cleaned engine, replaced distributor, cap, rotor button, plugs, and plug wires. Now, engine will not fire. It turns over, but never cranks. Tested, with a volt tester, the coil and there was no voltage...

Check ECM for water--unhook connector, dry as necessary. ECM is driver side, front side of wheelwell, mounted on inner fender. Your ECM powers injectors and coil. Might want to check ignition fues in battery fuse box too.

We go to crank the car, it turns over but wont start

You will need a diagnostician or a code reader to find the problem. Usually a fuel pump or spark problem......

I drove my Jeep to school and after class it wouldn't start. It cranks really good but sounds like it's not getting fuel. How can I check to see if the fuel sending unit in the tank is working or check the...

get somone to turn the key to the on position while you listen for the pump in the fuel tank usualy a whiz or wineing sound if you hear it the you good if you dont hear it when turning the key to the on off on position "the positoin before you crank the engine" then try hitting the tank with a stick or hammer a few times it could be stuck. if this works then park it when you get home, until you get a new pump.
you can check the pump relay usually under the hood in a black box marked as fues or somting like that the relays are marked on the bottom of the lid. if you dont hear clicking with key to on off position then try switch aound with a similar relay in the same junction box

At least once a week my daughters 01 150 cranks but refuses to start. by the time i go to pick her up it starts

When the crank no start happens, is the theft light blinking ? If you turn the key from the off to run position ( do not start ) does the theft light on the cluster go out ?

If not, check the key ring for other RFID fobs ( Mobil speed pass, etc ). If they are too close to the ign switch, this can mess up the RFID of the programmed key for PATS ( Passive AntiTheft System ).

If the theft light goes out, it could be a problem with the fuel pump relay. You can swap this with the trailer tow battery charge relay to test. My 2001 SuperCrew had the fuel pump relay go out at ~ 30K miles ( think that was it, it was low ).

If the relay change with the battery charge relay does not change things, is this happening with a specific fuel level ( i.e. 1/4 or 1/8 th of a tank ) ? Could be something floating in the tank that is getting pulled to the fuel pickup, blocking the fuel to the fuel pump.

The other thing , it could be the fuel pump itself, but start with the PATS check, and the fuel pump relay.

Changed motor now car will not start

the computers that tell the engine when to fire are sometimes different even with the same motors - replace the sensors from the old onto the new motor and i bet it will run -

also there are sensors other than just on the engine itself - also check all ground wires - and recheck all wires and make sure none are hanging without being connect - also check ur main fuse in the fuse box under the hood -

the problem could be either the motor is bad or the reostat (it controls the speed of the motor is faulty.) the reostat is located in the blower motor housing and has two wires going to it. the blower motor is located either on the passenger side fire wall inside the cab behind the glove box or on the fire wall under the hood. please rate this

overheating could be caused by a stuck thermostat or a clogged radiator not firing on #1 plug could be a fouled plug or bad wire or it may be grounding on the block and your coiil may not have been put in at the right mark

Disconnect the connector for the fue injector on the left side front of the intake plenemn there are two wires on red one blue these are your fue injector wires, check for power on one wire with the key ON One has power with the key ON, and then take the test light connect one end on one of the wires coming out of the harness NOT the plenem and the other end of the testlight to the other wire in the same connector don't let them touch togother! sue a paperclip or cotterpin to let you connect the clip of the testlight to the connector.crank and you should see the light blink( I just want to narrow down the possibilities) If you see the light blink Good. Then make sure the PINK wire wire going going in the module has 12V KEY ON and also check the two wires inside the distributor that come from the pick-up unit make sure they are not broke the distributor pick-up unit failes commonly, its easier and less expensive to just get a used distributor that works and be done with it.

If this information is helpful please leave me a good rating and keep in touch let meknow how things go I'll be here to help all I can, here you will find and entry in the BLOG or FAQ that is just like your problem and how I fixed it.
