Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer
I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. The third brake light works but the left and right ones do not. All other lights work.
1. Check bulbs and/or fuses and replace if needed
2. Possible that the brake light switch down on pedal is bad but, if your like is like mine it would be your turn signal/hazard signal switch. Therefore:
3. Replace turn signal/hazard signal switch. GM part price for this is around $500. Can find some, non GM part for around $225. Or do what I did and go to local junk yard/auto parts yard. Found the part I needed for $80, off a car that had only 48,000 miles on it. For dealer to put on is around $150. Did it myself by following this excellent thread. All of my "screws" were torx, not as described in the thread, but everything else was great! www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/mods.asp?modid=141. Taking to Dealer would have cost around $700. Thanks to Clayton Auto Parts and this thread with pictures, it cost me $80 and about 2 hours time. firstname.lastname@example.org
