Yea sounds like the chime it self is bad if that happened. so swapping it out should take care of it.

very easy to disconnect. if it is the door buzzer/chime it is under the left side of the dash! in the relay junction box. it is a square unit the is about 1 1/2" thick x 3" tall black and if you keep the key in and door open you can pin point it by following the noise. once you identify it give it a pull and it will come out just like a relay. i take them out all the time while i am doing work inside of these cars to they don't drive me nuts! good luck and keep me posted on how you make out.

My 2006 chrysler 300 seatbelt chime wont shut off even tho all seatbelts are fastened

Look under the seat and see if the plug is unplugged to the switch. You may have a break in the wire as when you click your seat belt together it completes the ground and turns the chime off.

The seatbelt chime/beep does not beep when seatbelt is unbuckled while I am driving. This a brand new Nissan Rogue.

Ask a dealer

Usually the chime only comes on when you
first turn key on, then times out

How to stop the chime on seatbelt on 2005 dodge dakota

Are you wearing your seatbelt when it chimes? If not, wearing your seatbelt will shut the chime off. If it chimes when you have it on, the switch inside the seatbelt locking mechanism may not be functioning properly, and the mechanism may need replaced. Look at the wiring next to your seat and follow the wires that leave the locking mechanism. They travel under the seat and plug into a wiring connector near the rear of the seat. Make sure it is plugged in and check the wires for damage.

2002 Cabrio... Where can I get a relay board?

Some manufactuers use a buzzer sound when you leave the keys in the ignition and car shut off. Some use a buzzer for a seatbelt that is not fastened when it detects a passenger.

The use of the turn signal or Hazard could break the circuit and silence the buzzer.

What is the 5 chime, cycling 5 times, then off? comes on after I start the car. Thanks, Jim

Is your airbag light on or not working? does your seatbelt light work? do you wear your seatbelt? This type of chime usually indicates a problem in the SRS system. (safety restraint system) Assuming 5 chime pause 5 chime pause and continues for 5 cycles and then stops.

I have a 1997 toyota corolla that one of the chimes (seat belt, key ignition or lights) just started dinging and won't stop until the car is turned off.

Get in the car, make sure your dome light is set to door-operation.
Close all the doors, does the dome light go out?
If so, it's not the door ajar chime. If not, one of your door pin switches is defective.
Buckle your seatbelt, does the seatbelt warning light on the dash go out?
If so, it's not the seatbelt alarm. If not, it's the seatbelt buckle receiver.
The light warning works with the key off, so it is not that since turning the car off would not stop it.
Last thing it could be is the ignition key alarm.
I have seen a few malfunction over the years.

Sometimes on start up there is a series of two chimes. What does this indicate.

Are you wearing your seatbelt when you start the car as this is the most likely cause for the chimes. having the door ajar would cause the chimes as well, but they would keep going until the door was closed
