Get a replacement stud from Auto Zone or Car parts+ store. Remove the brake drum. Using a punch and small sledge, drive the broken stud from the front, tire side, to the rear insert the new stud and punch in place. Re-install everything and you should be good to go.

Three Wheel studs broken how do I replace preferably cheap?!

Here is some help for you to replace the broken wheel studs on your 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan, you will need to follow these steps:

First, you will need to remove the tire that has the broken studs. You can do this by using a tire jack to lift the car and then using a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts. Once the lug nuts are loosened, you can remove the tire from the car.

Once the tire is removed, you will need to use a hammer and punch to carefully tap the remaining pieces of the broken studs out of the hub.

Next, you will need to purchase new wheel studs that are compatible with your car. You can find these at an auto parts store or online.

Once you have the new studs, you will need to use a press or a hydraulic tool to press the studs into the hub. Make sure that the studs are pressed in evenly and securely.

Finally, you can replace the tire and lug nuts, and lower the car back to the ground. Test the new studs to make sure that they are secure and that the tire is properly seated on the hub.

How to get drum pads off a 2000 dodge caravan

The pad drums of your 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan can wear with use. Heat buildup in the brakes can glaze, warp or crack the drum. If that happens, replacement of the drum is the only way to fix it. In most cases, you can remove the rear drums, replace them with a new set and leave the existing shoes on the van. Take a minute and inspect the brake shoes thoroughly while you have the drums off the van.

  1. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear of your 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan with a lug wrench. Do not take them off the wheel studs.
  2. Raise the rear of the van with a jack and support it on a set of jack stands. Place the stands under the rear suspension, making sure they are secure. Remove the lug nuts from the wheel studs and pull off the rear wheels.
  3. Check the rear drum where the wheel studs come through for retaining clips. These are used during the manufacturing process; and if they are still on your van, they need to be removed. Pry the clip off the wheel stud with a flat head screwdriver and discard them. Most vehicles will have two clips on each brake drum.
  4. Grasp the brake drum on the outer edges and pull it straight off the wheel studs and brake pads. Discard the old drum and slide the new drum into place, aligning the holes in the drum with the wheel studs. Push the drum in until it seats completely. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the van.
  5. Position the wheel back on the wheel studs and install the lug nuts by hand. Raise the back of the van with a jack and remove the jack stands from under the suspension. Lower the van to the ground and tighten the lug nuts with a lug wrench.

2001 dakota drivers side rear wheel fell off driving down the street. studs are ruined as well as rim. how do i replace the studs. thanks for any assistance

I don't have a solution, but I thought it was really strange (coincidence?) that you reported this in June of 2010, and here it is September 2010 I just ran into the same problem. Same year truck (2001) and same tire (paasenger side rear). Only I heard a lot of noise coming from what I thought was a flat tire. So I had my brother drive the truck while I got in the bed of the truck and located the sorce of the noise. When he applied the brakes it looked as though the tire was going to come right off and I was like "Holy ****.....stop the truck!"

One lug was actually already broken but the tire was very loose on the hub. I then went to tighten the other lugs and 2 more snapped off (total of 3 broken) trying to tighten them. So the others sustained stress from all the movement which made them weaker. Right now I have 3 (maybe 4 can't remember now?) holding that tire on until I fix it.

Is this a defect in the 2001 Dodge Dakota? (I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad cab with a 4.7 and about 95k miles). I was also hoping I woudn't have to take the who rear axle out. Once I get it up on the lift I'll be able to see it better.

Broken rear slideing glass window on a dodge dakota 2001.

on this truck the rear window is glued in with urethane, if I was cutting it out I would use a special power tool designed to do this. I am sorry but this will not be easy with out it, the only thing I could see is you bending and cut the frame off with a scraper and hammer. (bad picture in my mind) might be worth a stop at an auto glass shop and ask them to remove.

Procedure for replacing broken rear wheel stud on 1988 dakota.

It is a Knockout Stud. It will take quite a bit of force to get it out to. The new stud just goes in the Same way. Use a little WD 40 on Install for easier insert. The Lug Nut will keep it from getting loose.
