At the bottom right of the radiator there should be a thumb screw valve..

OR - take the coolant hose off at the bottom of the radioator to drain..

Be sure its not very hot when attempting this..

Good luck..

    Bleeding the cooling system

look at your top radiator hose is there a small bleed valve at the top of the thermostat housing when the upper hose attaches to? If so loosen the bleed valve and allow the cooling system to purge the air out of the system you can tell when the air is out of the system when a steady stream of coolant starts to flow out of the bleed valve, if there is no bleed valve take the top radiator hose off of the engine side and allow the cooling system to purge the air out through the top of the engine that way

Orffice tube located in 1997 volkswagon jetta

This vehicle does not have an orifice tube, it has an expansion valve located on the firewall where the two a/c hoses enter the car, there is a 10mm nut holding a bracket once you remove that bracket and slide the two pipes out there will be two hex screws to remove be carefull not to be to forcefull as this will destroy the evaporator, be advised they rarely go bad from my experiance its usually the compressor that fails
