Question about 2003 Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

Ignition locked This happened to me about10 months ago and again today on my 2003 nissan sentra. First time we spent an hour and a half jiggling the key in the ignition while turning the wheel left and right as little as it would go and finally seemed to get it turned over once we rocked the car back and forth, don't know if it unjarred the tumblers in the ignition cylinder or what, but I am heading back out now to try it again....Grrr...always at the most inconvenient times...also noticed it happened when the steering wheel was turned just a little to the right yet the wheels were still straight when I turned the car off...don't know if this is related but I'll never know for sure.

Keys & locks are subject to wear, especially if you have a large or heavy you have a spare key to try?the tip[pointy end] of the key is what releases the lock.have a new key made.if that doesn't work, call lock smiths for price to replace lock cylinder.

Car is difficult to start when hot. at least a half hour of sitting. But starts fine cold or when started soon after shutoff.

Possible leaky injectors flooding engine and takes time to clear. Use fuel pressure gauge to watch what happens when you shut it off. (Note if this is correct, injectors can often be cleaned to fix this)

2003 Nissan Sentra automatic When hard braking at highway speed, get pulsing vibration - tires/alignment/shocks or sturts

Probably your ABS brakes. Thats how they work, they pulsate so as not to lock up and go into a skid

Car overheats stop and go traffic, heater works over 2 rpms

I had a similar problem with 2003 nissan sentra, no heat , and car would stall on road on and off. Became a problem more frequently stalling. Took to nissan and they said it was head gasket. Fixed it and never had problem again. But i had it fixed at a local dealership since nissan was charging 1000.00 compared to 550.00. I replaced water pump and thermostat first b4 this and no cigar.

Nissan Sentra 2008 will not start

First try turning the steering wheel and jiggling the key simultaneously. If this doesn't work, your problem could be caused by the link between the ignition lock and the switch. Have your ignition switch and your key tumbler assembly replaced. It's an 08. It's under warranty !
