Disconnect the negative cable from the battery..
Under the front end - find the starter near where the trani connects to the motor and the really big gear (flywheel) is..
Undo 2 bolts to remove the starter.. take the wires off and be sure to put the wires on the starter the same way..
Connect the wires to the new starter and put the starter in with the to bolts.. The starter will only go in one way so you cant mess up how it goes in..

Good luck !

Ok you have two bolts holding the starter up and a small bracket at the end of the starter, but first unhook your battery, bolt sizes is 9/16,but when you drop your starter there maybe shims in there you will need to put them back,I hope this helps you and thanks

SOURCE: how do you change the starter on a 1993 chevy

Two bolts hold it to the engine block. Make sure you disconnect the battery first before doing any work. Negative cable first, then positive cable. After that, disconnect the wires attached to the starter and remove the two bolts, pull out. Replace in reverse procedure. Make sure you remember what wires went to what!

Chevy silverado 1500 305 engine would not start. Replaced starter & starter would not disengage

smaller of the 2 wires is on the wrong terminal,or the starter needs a shim to move it away from the ring gear,if it is too close it won't come out.
