I had my car battery checked and confrmed by AAA that it was dead. The alternator and starter was checked and fine. After the jump start the car ran for a few minutes then died. my dad incorrectly tried to jump start car with 1000 volt cable. Got new battery, replaced fried fuses, and now car is completely dead. Interior lights and dash lights work. Engine wont turn over and windows don't work.
Check main fuse in engine compartment
This action has JUNKED the RELAYS,on ALL auxiliary supply circuits. Without holding your hand, get DAD to shell out the cost of the replacements..... Sorry!
Regards, DT
Your system probably has a lot of relays and other electronics that are bad now. Your Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may be cooked as well. You may also have a fusable link that has been blown as well. The fusable link is basicly an in-line fuse that you have to replace the wire to replace the fuse. Get a wiring schematic and look to see if theres a fuse or similar that you misssed. You may find that you dont have power going to all or part of one of your fuse panels.
Hope this helps...
