Other than modifying the oil pan I can't see any major reason. You'll have to play with sensors and switches some. Check out faxonautoliterature, they list a couple manuals on swapping GM engines into almost any other GM for $24.95. Would probably be a BIG help. Hope this helps.

HAVE YOU DISCONNECTED THE TORQUE CONVERTER? SOMETIMES THE TRANS WILL BE STUCK TO THE BLOCK. YOU MAY HAVE TO TRY MOVING IT BY THE TAILSHAFT. SPRAY BLASTER (PENATRATING OIL) ON THE DOWEL PINS
I imagine that there would be and the first place would be looking is at a wreckers that handles blazer 4x4 vehicles.. You will have to go there any way to get a fly wheel and all the manual equipment need to do the conversion
Will it physically fit? yes. Will it be a direct replacement any everything hook right up and plug right in? If we are talking about an automatic then no. 1994's wiring was completely different than the 1997. Can it be made to work? possible, but I believe it would be more trouble trying to make it work than if the correct transmission were located and installed. If it is a cost issue where he has a good trans out of a 1994 he might see if a salvage yard will do some partial trading for the correct trans.
what you can do is to remove the motor mounts
and that may let the motor lay down more to get to the top bolts on the trans
I dont think that you can pull the trans and transfer case with it
cheek to make sure its not over full also the trans lines r right there make sure it not them spayin over after all u just did the motor and the trans was most likly hangin
Yes it will run, if it is identical as you told us, and you will have no problem with the safety switch, your only concern now should be the gear ratio of the 93 chevy Blazer.
