91 camaro, wont stay running

We have changed the fuel pump, fuel pressure reg, fuel filter, distributer it ran great for 1 day, now it sputters and shakes and dies after you start it, Please help!

The problem with it was that the ignition module and the distributor. That year uses a speed density system which calculates the volume of air moving through the intake. The EMC establishes the speed factor through a signal through the ignition module there for if it's not sensing that it's moving it will shut the injectors off. I hope that this helps other people out also. The whole distributor is 115 at Shucks / O`reilly

Does it smell really rich at the exhaust when it sputters or not?
Check bad contact at throttle body sensor, air flow sensor, temperature sensors (plural), be sure the intake boot/bellows are not leaking (maybe the motor mount is broken, allowing too much engine movement>)

More than one issue, maybe? Also consider other experts' solutions.

First, it sounds like the EGR valve is sticking open. The exhaust valve is
supposed to be closed when idling, otherwise open. It recirculates exhaust back into the manifold; can't idle car very well when the valve is open, but should not cause backfire.

U is generally an ignition timing issue: the ECM (electronic control module) is responsible for that. Check it / replace it.

Worst case: small break in one of the head gaskets (not likely, but symptom is the same).

Vacuum leak, too???
Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction!

Need fuse diagram for 1996 camaro ss fuel pump

This is for Z28--5.7L engine. I'd have to check voltage and ground for the fuel pump. At the fuel pump connector, gray wire is voltage, black is ground, check them both. Sometimes fuel pump will run but won't make good pressure, if any? You could jump load side of relay to see if pump will run and make proper pressure. The load side is that arm with arrowhead.
Engine cranking, you have spark at the plugs and fuel injector pulse, just trying to see if you have more than one problem?

91 camaro ran out of gas and will not start now put six gallons of gas in it , and will start when it is primed but will not stay running does it take a while to pick up out of tank

Your fuel pump needs constant gasoline flow in order to stay lubricated.

People who often run their gas tanks to low levels force their fuel pumps to work harder, without the necessary oils in the gasoline to lubricate the bilge.

It sounds like you've burnt up your fuel pump.

Go to your local auto parts dealer and pick one up. You might want to consider also adding a fuel filter as well.

Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helps!

91 camaro won't start 3.1 6V. Changed fuel pump, injectors, & ICM, has spark & will start with starting fluid, then die. But will not start and run. It cranks over, but won't catch. Security light...

Is the fuel filter ok? - fuel pump ok? Sometimes a new fuel pump is faulty. You may need to check your fuel pressure. Could even be a plugged fuel return line. PS be careful using starter fluid - it can be hard on an engine. Le t m e know. Thanks

Starts but wont stay running

In reply: if its not the maf there are 2 relays in the relay box i belive its underhood, 1 primes the fuelline to 32psi the second kicks in after it starts, and keeps it running and varies the psi. if the primer relay isnt kicking in then it wont start due to no fuel
