Hi! My 1988 Ford Ranger leaves a heavy film of dew on the windshield in rain and moistrous weather when heat is put on. There is no smell of coolant, and no coolant disappears. Any suggestions? Can it be no drain from the air intake, and if so, how do I clear the drain hole(s)? Thank you! Ulf Sandberg [email protected]

lots of ways, to leak rain (or other things)
windshield glass cracked
door seals bad or door warped
heater core, leaking engine coolant, (not water AF50% coolant)
the water in hand feels slimy, is not rain.!!
the cars most have cowl vent area in front of windshield glass.
this cowl when opened UP we see drains if the 2 or more drains Are clogged up with leaves or nests. the cowl floods like a bath tub
and overflows the HVAC fresh air vent, port, (a coffer dam it is)
and flows to the hVAC blower and to the floor., bidda bodda boom.
or super bad rusted car bodies sure do leak.
never ask the blind we can not see your car, blind
find shop tech to find it , living hands on work.
Check the cabin air intake. Chances are the weather strip that lines part of the opening has come off. The intake should be accessible beneath the trim at the base of the windshield on the passenger side.
Hello dedunwoodie. Your heater core is beginning to leak coolant. As the fan blows through it it is picking up the liquid and depositing it on your windshield. It will need to be replaced to solve your problem.
If your heater core was leaking you would have antifeeze coming thru your vents and putting a greasy film on your windshield. You would smell antifreeze the stongest if it was leaking onto a hot engine part. low antifreeze will cause bad heater performance, I would check by the thermostate housing, and the water pump for leaks
sounds like conveter is starting to plug and is geting hot rain was coling it off after your car is running for 15 min or so slowley put hand by tail pipe and feel vapers coming out of pipe be careful it may be real hot if it is you have a bad conveter vapers should be just worme coming out not hot
If it's like a sticky film, on the inside of the windsheild, and has a similar smell to antifreeze in the vehicle, then it's a heater core leak, which I suspect it is, seeing how your coolant level is going down.
