My daughter just bought a 92 Nissan Maxima 2 days ago. Today she tried to unlock the door and the alarm went off and would not shut off, nor would the car start. We didn't even realize this had a working alarm. No key pad on key, just a key. How do we either; disconnect the alarm or shut the alarm off some other way once the door is opened?
Please help, she went through a lot just to get this car.
Opening the trunk with the key (not the valet key) will shut off the alarm.
Can't offer help on permanently disabling the alarm.
All alarm sytems specially after market are attached to the crank wire under the dash to a relay or more than on relay-by removing the any lower dash panels to help aid with visual inspection of relay. look for a wire cut from under the dash that is spliced to a relay. The wires are color coded so just remove the relay or relays by cutting and removing and reconnect wires back to original colors- again also check fuse box for similar hook up-note only for earlier models such as you have.
I had the same problem with my 92 Maxima it was so bad to the point the car couldn't start due to the alarm going off. You will need to remove all of the alarm wiring system for the car it's located under the front end of the car and if it ran through the dashboard like mine, it will be a lot of work
