It is on the driver's side on top. Three vacuum lines connect to it. 7/8 is the size and no you do not have to take the transfer case out.

Changed to 4wheel drive low and I can't get it to change back to 2 wheel drive.

1999 Blazer. Thing's to check. 4x4 problem. There's an actuator pump under your battery plate. Make sure its in good shape and its working proper. Next check the cable that runs from the pump to the front transfer case. Then check the actuator switch on the front transfer case. Then check the vacuum lines from the front transfer case to the rear transfer case, that should be right under the drivers side door. There's also a actuator switch on the rear transfer case witch two vacuum lines run out of. Check them also, and last check your fluid level in your transfer case. Start from the beginning to the end. Don't forget to use your 4x4 every know and then to keep it up to power. Its not like the good old days. Where a pull of the lever on the floor engaged the 4x4. I hope this helps.

My 93 s10 blazer 4wd it will go in high an low rang but will not lock in

On all the 90s s-10s there is a vacuum actuator under the battery tray and a vacuum switch on the transfer case itself. It is comon for the switch on the t-case to go bad and keep the front axle from engageing. If the front axle doesnt engage the truck will not have four wheel drive.let me know if this helped.

S10 blazer wont shift into 4 wheel drive and lights wont come on

I have an 84 s-10 blazer and had the exact same problem. As far as not going into four wheel drive, I would bet that all you need is a transfer case vacuum switch. All you have to do is get under you truck and look on top of the transfer case: you will see three vacuum lines that all connect to the transfer case case vacuum switch. Just pull off the vacuum hoses, unscrew the switch, screw in the new one and reconnect the vacuum lines. Thats it. Oh and you can get the transfer case vacuum switch from Advance Auto Parts for like $16 and some change. Now as far as the lights not coming on, it is most likely the four wheel drive indicator light switch. It just a plug that screws into the front axle. Just unplug the wires, unscrew the switch, screw in the new one and plug the wires back up. But make sure you check the bulbs in the floor console first. Good Luck and I hope this will help you.

I have a 91 s10 Blazer 4.3 4x4. I need to find out where the vacuum lines go from the switch on the transfer case to the engine go. When I got the Blazer the vacuum lines were gone.

You should go to a salvage yard and get the plug that plugs into the top of the transfer case.It is a 3 line plug and it is a molded rubber plug. The lines go to the actuator.Which is under the battery tray. The other goes to engine vacuum. The other tees off to the vent pipe on the rear of the transfer case and atmosphere. That`s why I suggested the salvage yard.Hope this helps.Good luck.

It sounds like you have a vacuum problem that will not let the plunger switch it between 4wd and 2wd you might try to check to see if you have a vacuum leak
