If the motor gets hot and cuts off and will not start for a period of time the problem would be the crank sensor. The sudden cut off and starting right back up can be due to dirty battery cable connections. Remove them from battery and clean all three of them with a wire brush and replace both bolts.

Very little heat from heater in my stype v8 1999

Probably nothing to do with the thermostat; keep in mind that the heater control valve is a electric solenoid and something is wrong here either no power to solenoid or the solenoid valve has stuck inside the housing. If the car is running fine and reaching normal operating temperature, then it's likely to be the heater valve which isn't opening correctly.

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answerr).

200 jag stype no start anti-theft light flashing

Have you another key and fob ?

Try lock/unlock cycle with new key + fob. Your key may be corrupted.

Try also just unlocking the car with the key (not the fob) as soon as you unlock the door put the key in the ignition immediately and see if the car starts.

If you have your radio code it may be worth trying a total reset (leave the car unlocked) disconnect the battery and leave for 20 mins. then reconnect, most systems will then reboot and this MAY help?
Failing all the above it looks like dealer time - more ££ss

good luck !

Overheating Jag???

Chances are you have an electric fan that is not coming on when the car isn't moving so you have no airflow through the radiator. Check for fan operation. If the fan is working fine, you may have a faulty water pump. Some Jags had water pumps with plastic impellers and they came loose inside. You will have to remove the pump to check this, but if the fan(s) are working this is a very good possibility.
