Question about 1988 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

Car cuts off when hot

My daughter has a 1988 cadi sedan deville, the stop engine lite comes on and the car quits. Has oil, tried to add water, but radiator pushed it back out. No water is circulating in radiator. We think the radiator might be stopped up, trying to flush it out but can't find the plug to drain it. Any idea where it is or if that's the even the problem?

Pull bottom rad hose it will drain. You might need to replace your thermostat there might be a vapour lock also you should have a screw in your cooling system somewhere for bleeding it(letting the air out)

Wiring for 88 cadi fan

Well I'm sure there are kits to wire up electric fans on cars that are not designed for one.
You would need a relay and something to turn the relay on. A coolant sensor won't do the trick, the sensor is what tells the computer the engine temp, and the computer decides when to ground the fan relay.
You would need a temp switch that is designed to close at say 220 degrees to ground or power the fan relay.
The fan motor would have ground and power wires.

94 Cadillac Sedan Deville... starter or blown engine! Help?\r\n My step daughter is having a problem with the cadi that I gave her... The car wont start... battery is good... but making a clicking...

not many engines have a low oil sensor so it is up to the driver to keep an eye on the oil light or check the level at least every other day
if you get a socket onto the harmonic balancer nut and try to turn it , that will indicate if the motor has seized or not
clicking starter solenoids indicate loose battery terminals , dirty terminals bad ground wire connections bad battery ( load test will check that)

1988 Cadillac Sedan Deville has no heat. It blows cool air but becomes lukewarm after running quite a while. I have put in a new radiator, new thermostat, whole system has been power flushed and still...

Touch both heater hoses going to the heater core. They should both be hot. If they are, then the problem is probably a broken or binding blend door or bad blend door actuator. If one hose is hot and the other cold, then the heater core is clogged.

88 deville wont shift into 3rd gear,im wondering if it is the pressure switch.

Possibly in a "Safe" or "Limp home" mode. If so, have a look at the wiring harness on the transmission. I'll bet that the seal around the lid on it is failing. Clean the harness up, and reseal the lid on. If this does not fix it, have a mechanic look at the shifter linkage.

Sounds like the battery is weak or the alternator isn't providing enough amps to keep the engine running and power the lights at the same time.
