not clear on the question, but a lot of GM cars have a recall for ignitions turning off unexpectedly. The problem is usually too many keys or too much weight on the key ring causing the key to turn off. The first thing you should do is remove everything from the ring that the ignition key is on. Second, if you have a GM car google "GM ignition recall" to see if your car applies. If you have another make, google that too.

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan traction light suddenly comes on & van completely comes to a halt. ..can't move stirring wheel & brake locks up. Only happens with the first drive of the day and happens 2 a week...

Recall ID # 103891 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH minus.gif Hide Details Recall Date:
JUN 26, 2014
Model Affected:
2008 Dodge Grand Caravan
This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured June 29, 2007, to June 17, 2010, and 2008-2010 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles manufactured January 26, 2007, to June 17, 2010. Road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the OFF or ACCESSORY position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will modify the ignition switch, free of charge. Chrysler sent out an interim notification to owners on September 11, 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is L25. Note: This is an expansion of recall 11V-139.

Hello.. Basic form of my question is I turn off my ignition and remove my key but the car still runs. I can even rev the engine. I need to re-insert the key and attempt to turn it on just to turn it off??...

Did you get the recall on the ignition switch? If not call any GM dealer and have them check it for the recall. You will need to give your Vin # it is found on the car at the bottom of the windshield on the drivers side, insurance card, or on the title. I believe the recall is 2004 to 2007. I would not mention the issue in case they would try to charge you for it. It sounds like the ignition switch is bad and because of the recall it will get replaced free of charge.

Won't start and shuts off while driving

I would check the main fuse relay aka fuel relay... Located under the dash, on the steering colum... They go bad with the heat.. I have an 01 cl and would act stupid on hot days and that relay fixed my issue...

My ignition switch is either locked or frozen? key won't turn, steer wheel won't move, and gear shift want move

The key/ignition switch needs to be replaced. Very common in newer GM vehicles. The key either wont turn, wont go in, or the key wont release from the tumbler. Check with a local Chevy dealer to see if there has been a recall issued for this. But you will need to have it serviced regardless.

Unable to turn key in ignition to start 2003 Honda Pilot .

Your ignition lock cylinder probably fell apart. They get worn out and the tumblers inside fall out and leave the cylinder inoperable. Get your lock cylinder replaced and you'll be good as new.

GM had a recall on the ignition switch for a possible fire hazard . You might want to call your local dealer to see if the recall had been already done. but it sounds like the ignition switch went bad.
Check for power on the yellow wire when you hold the key in the crank position.
I think the recall involves putting a relay in the circuit which is usually mounted on the radiator fan shroud area
