Drivers side window sticks have way up

When rolling down the driver's side window as it reaches the half way point you can hear and feel it jump. Once you pass the half way point it will continue to roll down normally, but as you try to roll it back up, it stops at the half way point and will not continue. I can roll it back down, but have to grab the glass and pull it past the half way point, then I can use the switch and it will finish going all the way up. I currently have the door apart and found some sort of destroyed piece of plastic, not sure what it is, but it is broken in about 10 pieces. what's up.

Something inside is broken, obviously. If you can identify it from the picture you should be able to order that part (bring the diagram)
Diagram is power and manual.

I purchased a 98 chevy lumina sedan about 6 yrs ago. at that time, the driver's side power window would only go down about half way, at the half way mark, it would continue to "try" to go...

The widow regulator is bad. I believe yours is set up on a gear system. there is a long band that is plastic, of course that will lose teeth. The reason it stops. These are not hard to replace. remove the door panel. You will see the regulator and the track. You will need some tools and a drill to remove rivets. The track will pull out, then slide the new one in. you may have to remove the window to do this. Shop rate is 1 hour + materials.

The drivers side window auto up/down quit

1. Start the car and leave it idle.
2. Hold the window button down all the way, until the window is completely down.
3. Let go and push it down again and hold the window button for 2 to 3 seconds then let go. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)
4. Pull up on the window button and roll the window up until it is all the way up, when it is up let go.
5. Pull the button up again for 2 to 3 seconds. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)

Window goes up then down half way on drivers side

I know this answer is going to sound strange but I had exactly the same problem on a 2007 93 convertible. When you closed the window it would reach the top and then go back down half way. You could edge the window up slowly but as soon as it reached the top it opened again. This was solved by taking to a dealer and upgrading the software for the windows under the manufacturers warranty. There is a firmware update that adjusts the sensitivity for the sensors and solved the problem instantly and i've had no problems for over two months.
Hope this helps.

Driver's window won't roll up all the way

If you have power windows it should be a broken cable, If its manual then it should be the crank asm. or the white plastic trac, it may torn at the end.

Power windows sticks. intermitantly stops working for awhile.

Have same problem passenger side window goes up, feels resistance, rolls down half way.  Had been able to hit door on driver side to get window to go up but now it just stays down.  Agree with gspotlight, hate this!  So not impressed by Infiniti.    Having the windows do this is as good as leaving me stranded.
