I have a 94 nissan quest and the column wont budge

i have tried to put it in gear it will not budge i am a single mom and figure i would give this a try?????????????????

about the only thing you can check is to disconnect the linkage rod or cable at the transmission to determine if the problem is in the column or linkage or in the transmission.(if you can move the lever on the trans, the problem is not there) Any work inside the trans or inside the column is best left to someone with experience and is definitely not a repair for someone who has not done this work before. Although shops are expensive, that's your best way of getting your problem resolved.
