Car jumping when you put it in gear to park

I have a 2006 Ford Five Hundred and when I'm getting ready to park and put my foot on the brakes my car jumps. I'm scared that I will hit the car in front of me. It seems like instead of stopping it seems like I'm pressing the gas peddle but I'm not.

Been there! First, I bet that you only have that problem when your air conditioner is on, right? Change your PVC filter and your fuel filter. I did both and the problem went away immediately.

Seems as if it is surging ...quite possibly you should consider a full tune up as certain sensors will cause the flow of gas etc to allow it to act this way these sensors report to the computer what and when to adjust the flow of gas etc ,telling the engine sensors how and how much gas etc are to be applied and distributed thus causing your issue ..

Sounds like your clutch is not disengaging. I would have a mechanic check that out right away.
Good Luck!

2005 Ford Five Hundred. Once the car warms up and you try to come to stop without putting in neutral the car just revs high but won't move.

Question edited into written English.
Question moved to model category.

It sounds like you have and unusual and flawed driving technique.

Manual or Automatic?

Automatic. You never use neutral unless you are in a car wash that drags your car by the wheels. Decelerate, foot on the brake and into Park. Your right foot does both brake and accelerator, left foot does nothing. I saw a lady 2 days ago with left foot on the brake and right foot on the accelerator.

Manual. Downshift through the gears, right foot on the brake, left foot on the clutch and into neutral and hand brake on.

If you are doing that, the vehicle needs diagnosis why it is happening.

How do i to fix a ford five hundred car stuck in park?

If it is locked in park, it could be the brake switch or the shift lock solenoid. You may be able to shift out of park before you turn the key switch to the on position.

2005 ford five hundred will not start have no engine lights will not shift out of park how do i fix it

Ok, let me see if i understand your question. It must be that you want to engage a different gear but since your car is dead then it will not allow you to shift to another gear without the car being on. If that is the problem that you are trying to move the vehicle by pushing it or something like that then let me say that fords have a an electric plunger on the foot brake that actuates the shift mechanism. The battery must be somewhat charged enough to engage this by placing the key in the courtesy setting (turn key just before the engine turns over) But since your engine is dead I will asume that you dont have any juice on the battery, If so let me know if this helped you. Once you have juice in the battery then depress the brake and the shift column should move freely after that. G.E.

When I put my 2006 ford Five Hundred in Reverse, Netrual and Drive, the gear is getting stiff to move. Why is this happening?

Has Coke or anything that goes sticky been spit around gear shift? I have had this before & had to pull console apart & clean with spray & wipe.

Surging and Gauges zeroing out during operation

You might want to go to a electrical shop to have your car hooked up and have it tested for either a short or a loose or bad wire or connection.
