Follow the fuel lines from the gas tank down the frame rail until you find the canister round in shape and connects between the two lines going into it usually mid frame under the driver-side area

On my engine (2.8L) the fuel filter is in the engine compartment drivers side back below the AC compressor. has a bracket clamp holding it in place. follow your fuel line from the throttle body down and you cant miss it.

First check to see if you have a fuel filter. It will be located between tank and engine. Apparently, some Envoys do not have a filter, just a screen mounted on underside of fuel pump which is in fuel tank.

I have been told by a mechanic that the fuel filter is inside the fuel tank. Have to either drop the tank or remove the pickup bed. Access is on the top of the tank. This is poor engineering.
