Have had this problem with the idle.

I had this problem and eventually had to replace the vacuum manifold intake valve. (sorry I'm a girl and not too great at car knowledge).
Car has always ran hot and typically burns off oil prior to the 3-month change date.
I was told that this is a problem with Saturns. Not sure how much to put into that because this is my fourth to own and only one I have had any problems at all with.
Now car is overheating and doesn't seem to have any type of leaks.
Good luck.

first park on level ground, let the car set for 5mim. to let the oil drain back to the oil pan, then find the oil dip stick, pull it out and wipe it off and on the dip stick you will see a hi and low mark for the oil, then put the dip stick back in the engine and pull it out and you will see what level the oil is,normaly you can see if it is in the hi and low mark in between them is good, hope this helps.
