I have a 2000 daewoo and it some times starts and sometimes doesn't and when it does it sounds like i have a big muffler on it and i don't and it stalls and doesn't want to go over 20mph whats wrong with my car
Sound like a blow head gasket :( check to see if there is water/coolant in the oil, look on dip stick. see if there is oil floating on top of coolant in radiator. does it smoke a lot when it starts ?

its worn out and needs an engine rebuild ,what happens with these cars is that without regular oil changes the inside of the engine builds up with a lot of carbon black gunk this then breaksa down when it does get a oil change and then blocks the oil pick up pipe filter ,Causing oil starvation which is what you have had happen ands so the big ends are now noisey and the tappets with worn piston rings .New engine
What a funny set of events.Of course the tail pipe is clear(you would have checked that)The only other thing it might be is the cat/converter is blocked.New muffler is allowing a heap of air through and it suddenly clears and the bang. They do block up so it may be worth getting it checked.Hope this helps
He he this is funny to me!! You have several things going on here Ok? Starter not engaging is one prob. Key switch is another prob.
This all depends on the car type and year. Big question!!! but it all is between ur key an ur starter. So its a process of elimination to find out the real problem first.
Bad key switch, bad connections, bad grounds, bad starter solenoid, bad starter gear, bad starter relay(depending on yr of car)
To be honest there ca be lots of different problems whith why the care will not start, so u just have to start with elimination of 1 thing at a time.
At most autopart stores they have repair books for just about every make an model of car an trucks !! Try that if confused!!!
If the muffler is plugged the engine can't breath & can cause all sorts of drivability problems. The first step is ti repair the restricted exhaust system.Good luck, ChevRev
Try to reset the IAC valve on the throttle body it has 4 wires t it . procedure is as follows
turn ignition key on (don't start the engine), unplug the IAC valve, turn the key off, replug the IAC .Do this 3-4 times .Then start the engine while holding the pedal down at about 2000 rpm then let the rpm down slowly till idle. Sometimes the throttle requires cleaning then redo the reset.
Is the garage you took it to a daewoo dealership? If not then try one; they should be able to run a diagnostic. If so, take to a different one.
I would think it is the o2 sensor. If you disconnected it then it sounds like you have the knowledge to replace one. When mine went bad the car didn't stall.
