most give it free so they dont get lawsuits. (safety issues )
First of all check and make sure your fade or balance are not off in the radio settings. if not the problem check speaker connections. If they are door speakers sometimes when closing the doors works the connection loose if this is the problem put a drop of gorrila glue on the connection so it will not come loose. same with all connections where speakers are involved. You can also check the connections on the back of theradio itself.
The trim around your radio and switch is usually held on by pressed in clips, you can pop it off with a flat screw driver CAREFULLY, some times there will be screws that you can only see looking from the bottom up. Once you have that trim off you will see the screws that hold the switch assy in place, radios are mouted so many different ways I cant help ya there
