On my Dads 85 Ford F-150 it takes two times to turn the key over before it will start. When get in it and the engine is warm(like after you've drove it, parked then got back in it 20 min later) you have to turn the key over let it crank a bit, then turn the key all the way off and turn it over again and it will start. I tried turning the key back a bit to make it stop cranking then back on again and it wouldn't start. I had to turn it all the way off. If the engine is cold it will start right up on the first turn. My dad checked the fuel pump and lines and they are fine. He checked wires and spark plugs, fine too. Checked starter and battery, good there. Could it be the ignition switch?
