Also a none related matter the speedometer stoped working,do this cars have the old type cable that ran from the transmission to the speedometer in the instrument panel, 'cause I don't see one, instead there is thing that has some wires, is it a censor instead ??? There is a short bypass hose on the back of the pump that is notorious for leaking.

Your car has a vehicle speed sensor int he transmission, it does not use a speedo cable.

Here is a diagram of where the pump is, both available engines have the pump in the same position.

The water pump should be located directly behind the cooling fan :)

Testimonial: "Thank you, but since the engine is sideways and the fan is to the front of the car I don't get where it is???"

I need to replace pully on water pump and all the belts 1994 toyota corolla

im sorry to tell you,but pulleys on water-pumps do not get RE-PLACED! if they're LEAKING from th weeping HOLE,which is too the side of the pulley, then that means the RUBBER-SEAL went out, which is behind th pulley,on the inside, this indicates that its time for a BRAND-NEW-WATER-PUMP...

My 1990 toyota corolla is getting hot really fast - i fill radiator up and after 5-10 min the water has evaporated - it appears to be leaking somewhere around the right side of engine (facing front of car)...

Well there are only 3 things that could have gone wrong.

1. Radiator Leak - this means the radiator has developed a hole with via corrosion of the metal parts of simply integrity failure of the plastic parts of the radiator.
2. Hose leak - this could be a hole in 1 of 2 hoses that connects the engine to the radiator. Or it can also be a leak where the hose connects to the radiator (clamp Failure).
3. Water Pump breakdown - this is where the gasket in the water pump has failed and is leaking out the water rather than pumping it.

All the problems above has different ways of diagnosing. but we can probably narrow it down.

1. if the leak is near the radiator then it could be a hose connection, hose breakage or Radiator hole.

2. if the leak is nearer the engine then check the other end of the hose and if its not there then it could only be the water pump is leaking. You can check this if there are water stains on the water pump. The water pump on a 1990 corolla is mechanical turned also by a fan belt. Look for a pulley that has a hose connected to the radiator and that would be the water pump.

Ford mondeo 2002 Zetec 2.0 motor ..Have a small or slow water leak comming from front of motor behind water pump area ,above air con unit, where water hose goes into the motor ..very hard to see where it's...

Starting from the top down dab every joint and seam with kitchen paper towel. Between each dab and press examine the kitchen towel for dampness. It is vital that you find out exactly where the leak is coming from. You could be lucky and the leak might be fixed buy an extra half turn on a jubilee connector on a hose union or a quarter turn on the water pump or thermostat housing bolts. If the leak persists you may require a new gasket . If the leak is from the water pump shaft seal behind pulley you will see a tell tale stain on the 'chin' of the pump body. This will require a replacement of the pump.
