Bout time for a tuneup-inspec plug wires for wear n tear-look inside dist cap for the same--also the fuel system n injectors could stand a glance-keep in touch
I would hav a scan done for bad codes-bring it to discount A etc for free-may hav a bad sensor -engine lites dont always come on with certain problems-car systems r not much different then your pc:complicated n sensitive
now Im assuming u looked at the dist area and the other tuneup procedures-old ignition modules, bad dist caps, wires etc can really trick a mechanic -these things dont show on scanners--failin fuel pressure regulators dont either--a bad 02 sensors can put the vehicle out of balance it screws up the lean/rich ratios and could possibly deliver your symtom--if u could scan the car while moving it usually gives a different data stream etc--when ur car sets a spell n then seems to hav no problem-that can be an indication of failin components

Sorry, NO CEL's, just bought the car friday. NGK plugs are to go in this week, oil was already changed, air filters new, fuel filter was not replaced by me but the canister it's self looks new. This problem seems intermittent, started the car earlier and it ran smooth, later today and it's running rough, studders through some stop signs and clears completely at times. All problems seem to be a non issue above 3k rpm. The studder that I get below 3k seems as if I'm running in too low a gear.
Just wanted to clarify. IDLE is normal, oil pressure is normal. Giving it gas in neutral between 1 and 3k rpm is where the "miss" is noticed.
Ok, a little update. I was getting codes 13 and 34, cleaned the MAF sensor with an approved MAF sensor cleaner as well as cleaned connectors to MAF, coolant temperature and knock sensors. Reset ecu. Codes 13 and 34 gone. Runs fine now until 3/4 throttle is applied, then the hesitation/misfiring restarts. If the car has to sit at idle for a long light or gets shut down and restarted after a few minutes it will run decent again. Until throttle is applied past 1/2 to 3/4. The only code I'm getting now after the connectors have been cleaned is a code 33, left bank o2 sensor. Ran the ECU's o2 sensor diagnostic and got no response from the left bank o2, right bank o2 tests fine. My questions is. Would a bad o2 cause this sort of power loss and studdering? It feels as if timing is being removed but, I'm not getting any of the other "limp mode" symptoms such as no rev past 2500 or 3000 rpm.It sounds almost like a modified boxer engine of the subaru variety when it's acting up.. I'm lost and I appreciate all your help.
DO YOU HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR SERVICE SOON LIHGT.....ALSO HAVE YOU DONE ANY TUNE UPS ON YET
