The entire hub has to be removed after the axle, then you remove 8 mounting bolts if I remeber correctly.and slip of the rotor. If it does not come off easily hit in in a circular pattern with a plastic(nylon) hammer.

How do I replace right front wheel bearings on 1999 Dodge Dekota?

Hi,

It is a whole hub assembly. You remove the pin and unbolt the hub assembly and replace.

What is needed is to raise your truck and support it with jack stands ( no concrete blocks) then remove the brake caliper and pads, be sure to support the caliper with mechanic's wire or what you have on hand that will do the job.

Then remove the brake rotor "hat" then remove the cotter key then the hub retainer nut and remove the hub. The new hubs are greased so just replace the hub torque, install new cotter key the rotor hat and pads and caliper.

I hope this helps.

Should there be a snap ring holding rotors in place on a 1999 dodge stratus?I get front end shaking at certain speeds.

Have the front end checked by a mechanic. The problem could be wheel balancing, front end alignment, broken tire belt or a number of related things. The rotors are held in place by the wheel lug nuts. Good luck!

Install rotors

Jack up car, remove wheel assembly, remove brake caliper after moving pads into piston and retainer. DO NOT LET THE CALIPER HANG! The rotor is now free to come off the spindle....accordianman
