1994 toyota corolla brake lights won't turn off

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to check the brake switch. Your brake pedal contacts the brake switch when it is pressed down. There is a small button on the brake switch that activates the lights. It may be stuck or broke. Try to loosen the button first. If it won't, buy another one. They only cost a few dollars.

How do you change out the brake light switch on a 98 toyota corolla?

Look under the dash, on the brake pedal arm. There are one or two switches that activate brake lights and/or shift unlock. Check for loose mounting nut or a missing rubber nubber. Is the brake pedal coming all the way back up? Look on the floor for something not usually found there. These switches are adjustable and it may be as simple as adjusting them. Have a helper look for brake lights on and shift lever unlocked while you push and release the switches with your finger. Depress the brake pedal to get it out of the way. Remember to set the park brake first. Could just be a bad switch or loose connector.

To replace the switch, remove the connector, then pull the mount clip off, and the switch should just slide off the post. Installation is the reverse of removal. You may have to adjust the new switch.

Follow the hose from the bottom of the radiator to the point where in reaches the engine block. That's where the thermostat is located and the Engine Coolant Temperature switch is there too.
