Check alternator for proper output, you can buy a cheap meter at auto parts store, or check for corroded or loose connections

Why would my oil light be coming on and beeping even though I have a full oil reservoir?

if oil level is ok, your oil PRESSURE is dangerously low.
Either the wrong oil was used, or your oil pump is going bad.

Ill bet on wrong oil since you just had it changed,

I had the serpentine belt replaced on my 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager about two months ago. Everything was going fine with it, no problems or anything, until like a week and a half to two weeks ago, when I...

Check the alternator pulley for a wobble when the engine is running. WIth the belt off pull up and
down on the pulley, check for up and down movement. If the belt popped off, you have some movement on one of the pulleys, a bad belt tensioner, or just the wrong belt. So check the belt tensioner as well. And find the part number on the new belt and check online to see if its the correct belt. But Im fairly certain its the alternator.

I think you have a bad bearing on your alternator. The bearing can become loose and reseat itself for a while, then loose again. Could explain the battery light randomly coming on.

Have the alternator bench tested at the auto parts store as well.

My battery died and now the van wont start.

I have no idea about the factory alarm resetting itself, but I DO have experience with having someone leave lights on and jumping the battery the wrong way. Unless you are 100% positive this is no the case, make sure it was not fried on the jump. If the cables were crossed, you might have some wires, therefore rendering your on-board computers to ****. =) Good Luck.

Also, contact a dealer via PHONE (so they can not trick you into being charged by looking at your van) in regards to factory alarm.

well undoing the battery just clears the pcm.as soon as the problem is detected the light comes on again, and will untill you scan the computer so you can get a code and find out where the problem is,so check your gas cap(pretty common fault)make sure it is tight.if it was okay have your mechanic scan it for you and the mystery will be over. have a good day DB
