There should be an idler pulley nearby to your aircon compressor, with an adjusting bolt to tighten your belt. If the belt is tight and still squeals, there are allsorts of weird and wonderfull things that are applied to them to stop squealing. Vaseline won't hurt the rubber but it will stop the squealing...hope this helps.

2005 toyota sienna minivan awd sometimes had loud

Hello and thank you for asking me, the most common cause for this is a loose/slipping power steering belt so it should be inspected and adjusted or possibly replaced. This engine has two drive belts, one for the alternator and a/c and another one for the power steering, if one is worn or loose it's best to replace both belts. Let me kno wif you have any more questions or additional info.

a squealing sound on start up and/or while driving is most likely that your serpentine belt is worn out. usually a simple easy fix.

Heating/Air Conditioning Unit makes a squealing noise upon start up. Can this just be a loose belt?

Yes, that is exactly what I would suspect. If it has a serpentine belt then replace it. If it has a V belt driving the A/C then make sure it is adjusted properly. If it seems tight then replace the belt.

Serpentine belt is getting noisy on my daughters 2005 Toyota Sienna 3.3 liter V-6, and I notice there are two belts that are both very close to the fender. It looks to me like there is not a spring loaded...

You are correct, there is no automatic tensioner for either belt. The linked YouTube video provides good guidance for replacing the belts - more so for the top one. To replace the lower belt, remove the right front tire and the splash shield to get to the lower part of the engine for the power steering belt.

2004 Toyota Sienna- Driver's seat belt jammed and twisted. Dealership can not fix. Want me to replace the whole seat belt device for $500! There are two other cases filed with the NHTSA.gov.
Maybe this should be a safety recall!

Squealing sound every time I start my van

you need to adjust the alternator belt, do adjustment a little bit tightening a bit. this will solve the problem. Or just change a new belt if the belt has crack.

Help! Air conditioner causes squeal soon after turned on

The ac is belt driven, If one of the belts are loose it will make a squealing noise. Turning on the air puts more strain on the belts. If this is the case all you would have to do is tighten the belt or belts. This would probably take a service tech just a few minutes. Probably under $100.00 dollars..........
