There are two problems, one we fill the radiator up with water every morning and then drive it for the day and cant find any leaks but the next morning all the water is gone and it seems to be spraying because when we are done driving the whole back left corner is wet. The second is that when we are driving it the temperature goes up all the way to the red line and then goes strait down to normal again and it repeats that. we think it is an air lock could we be right.

There are all sorts of things you can try. i would start with trying to identify the leak by running the car and monitoring it. see if there are any loose or leaking hoses. what kind of car is it?
also consider bleeding your coolant system. this will eliminate any air. it could also be a thermostat problem... this is usually an easy change, depending on your car. you can determine if your thermostat is going bad by boiling it for a couple minutes. if it does not open fully, it is defective and needs to be changed. if the valve is going bad and is having trouble opening and closing it could contribute to your indication problem.

Do a pressure check on cooling system, you might try some stop leak if leak is not too bad, you need to use the right ratio of antifreeze 50/50?

My mitsubishi IO radiator was empty and its reservoir also empty,i saw water dripping below the engine? Is this radiator leakage?

It could be anywhere in the cooling system, a hose, the radiator, the engine block, the head, or any gasket between those points.

Car overheats

There could be many causes for a small leak, including foreign debris, small crack or loose hose. Using just water with no antifreeze can damage your radiator in sub 32 temps so always mix with coolant/antifreeze. One temp solution is buying stop leak from a auto part store, another remedy I've heard work is putting black pepper (finely ground) in your system to stop small leaks and it actually works. Good luck.

01 dodge ram 1500 5.2L. Radiator was empty, filled it up and next day was empty too. No noticeable leak coming from under the truck (no puddles). I used anti-freeze and water from hose (well water) front...

it may only leak when driving..when the pressure increases. this leak could be internal as well as in a head gasket. fill it up and let it idle and get up to temp and check for leaks then.(never remove the rad cap from a hot engine)

I change the thermstat i change the water pump what alse would make it over heat

I have a 1998 Disco I and I have the same problem. This weekend, June 29, 2013 my car overheated while driving up a maze in a parking garage to the guest parking. All of a sudden my temperature went way high but not quite at the redline. By the time I got to the seventh level and turned off the care, the radiator spewed fluid everywhere. The next morning I drove it home (3 miles) and it did not overheat. I filled the radiator with water and there is no obvious leak. I don't know what to do and I have been driving here and there with no problem and no overheating !!!!?????

2002 kia rio 1.5, every time i drive the car i need to put about a quart of water in the radiator and fill the tank next to it. no water under the car. No water in the oil or trans. i cant find any leaks....

The water seems to leak out when the engine is running and so it is important to hve the test done when the engine idles.
So fill up and lett it idle to checck if the fault appears.
It is possible that the radiator has got a microscopic leak and is steams out at some stage for sure.
Once confirmed you wilI have to get teh radiator checked with a pressure test. check the bandages of the hose to water pump/engine.
Also the last point if the engine is heating up to oerflow off when it is running and at stops.
