BCM or body control module is usually the culprit there.Often mounted near drivers left foot area on firewall & brake pedal area, or near fuse panel. Have heard of some being cured by simply disconnecting battery for a few seconds & erasing all codes, as well as updating with scan tool at dealer, otherwise new one may be required but I'd go with a scan first at least if necessary after battery disconnect.

I don't have any taillights or dash lights on my 1993 Dodge Ram diesel pickup

They are related because they come from the light switch. they are unrelated because they have separate fuses. If you have front parking Lights, then look to the ground and power wires for the rear lights. Check fuses. If one of the lights come on on the dash, check fuses. If some come on, just not the instrument panel, then pull it, unplug it and plug it back in. Bad connection. Unlikely that all the bulbs burnt out. If they still don't work then tear it apart and see where the connections has gone bad. you need a volt/ohm meter.

My 1992 Dodge Cummins 3/4 ton won't stay charged. Replaced the battery and alt. And my battery is still dying alt. Also isn't kicking on and off. I've noticed my wait to start light sometimes stays on when...

There is plug in the CPS harness behind the fan mount below the upper radiator hose. Follow the harness from the IP around to the front and you should be able to see it. The pins can get bent and not make contact in the plug, or, it falls apart. Verify continuity thru that before buying new sensor.

There is no big fuse, just a bunch of fusible links on the driver side fenderwell. I *think* one of those powers the SBEC computer. Checking to make sure all of them are good is another step.

All the functions you are talking about are controlledout of the SBEC and will quit when the CPS signal is bad or gone. If everything else checks good it may be new computer time.

Good luck and hope this will help you out

Car cuts out after driving for short distance. Lights etc still work. Just the engine stops. Wait a couple of minutes and it starts again.

Its possible.Try disconnecting the Battery for 10 minutes and see if it helps. By disconnecting the battery you are getting into read only memory preprogrammed functions. Using the keychip as your husband did could write over the functions. Hopefully the write over is temporary and the system will reboot to factory settings.

It would be a good time to check if all remaining keys work in the car.

Dash /guages /speedo not working and abs light on and door locks

I have the same problem with a 1997 Dodge Caravan. However I don't agree with solution 1 given. Your problem is different then the person in solution 1. His vehicle would not start when the problem occured....our problem is the guages and door lock only work when they are in the mood. They won't work and then suddenly as driving down the road the door locks lock and the guages come on and it may be fine for a week. There are 2 speed sensors on the front on of the tranny.....One speed sensor controls trans shifting and that one is ok or you van would not shift. I thinking you may to check other speed sensor......
The second solution has some merit check and fuses.....

98 VW Golf GL (Manual) Dash lights out!

As with everything else electrical check your fuses first. If you don't have a map of your fuse box just pull them out one at a time and check them.. blown ones will be easy to spot. If all the fuses are good, check the dimmer knob for your interior lights (roll it back and forth a few times) If the lights come on at one certain spot but go out again, it's the dimmer gone bad. If they don't come on at all pull the switch out and check for power with a test light. If power bad dimmer... if still no power bad headlight switch.... Hope this helps...;-)

The check engine light has nothing to do with the running lights on the vehicle. Chances are that the headlight switch has gone bad, good luck, Dont forget to rate.

2004 dodge neon fuse problem.

The dome tight is actually a combo fuse/light. If that light is burned out; 1 the locks won't work, and 2 the odometer will flash "FUSE" and 3 the "DOOR" warning light will stay on - try replacing the bulb. If it stays on with all the doors closed, more then likely one of the switches that are built into each of the door latches is not making the correct contact to shut off the dome light/dash light. The correct fix is to replace the defective latch. The other option is to just cut the wires that feel the switch inside the door - then the car will think that door is always closed and the lights will not come on when you open that door.
