2005 equinox LT wont start after I just drove it to the store got back in to go home. It is making a clicking noise. I had to have it towed. The power windows were slow going up. No lights, or inside lights come on. What's the deal. I just had it services the end of July.

Thanks for the quick response. The shop is going to call me in the morning. Hopefully that will be it.I thought that is what happened but when I tried to jump start it it did not work. Could this be something else or is it still the battery?

I believe your battery just developed a bad cell!

Sounds like you lost your alternator...anytime your lights dim or radio fades or windows are slow
thats a sign that your battery isnt taking a full charge...could have a cell going old is the battery...if more than three years its a good chance its seen its last days you could try trickle charging it over night but buy a new one instead.
Do you steam clean your engine a lot? well if you do keep a rag over the alternator so it doesnt get wet....makes them last longer.

is the clicking noise when you try to start it? or all the time when you were towing it home? usually clicking means dead me its happened to me a lot..dont let the dealer tell you it something else! Get a new battery...the car is not that old what else could it be ..unless you got a lemon! Sometimes people dont know hoe to jump start a install the jumpers on the good car and put a positive on the dead battery and then the most important is to find a good engine frame do not put it on the other negative post! did they do that?

Im sorry i meant alternator will keep the battery from charging...but still i"d advise a new battery also, one with as many cold cranking amps that you can afford! 600 -900 amps will suffice..after the repairs you should'nt be stranded for years!

I have a 2002 jeep liberty help with the tapping noise and stalling

The tapping is the valves hitting against the buyer upper part of engine. The stalling is most likely the computer shutting down engine. You might have engine damage. The tapping comes and goes according to engine rpm the higher the rpm the louder the tapping. If I was have it towed to u mechanic and have them run test engine might be beyond repair

The car died on sode of road now will not start but will try and turn over makes a loud clicking noise

Your alternator has died in which has drained you're battery, You wont be able to get home unless you get it towed. The loud clicking noise is normal, dont worry, all it is is you're starter trying to start the car but it doesent have enough power to do so.

Golf 1.9 tdi wont start :-(

Sounds like you have a bad glow plug relay that could cause a power spike and drain your battery,it could also take away power to the fuel pump causing the loss of power.Hope this helps you out some!!
