I'd check under the drivers or passengers seat - That is where alot of the entry and security controllers are located - If not, you'll need to consult a "component locator" which will tell you exactally where it is...

2002 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon electrical - door locks

Make SURE your door key, outside in the door... is straight up and down. The security system is protecting the car, it thinks the doors need to be locked. This is sometimes caused by the keyhole not being verticle.

2002 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon electrical problems, door locks

I have two Subarus, a 1990 and a 2000 -- both have systematic doorlock problems. The best suggestion I can give you is to Google Subaru forums, there are several good ones, and by postinfg and looking at archives, you will get answers from people who have had this issue. I have a 1999 Subaru Impreza- Remote locking

First, it may seem obvious, but check the fuses associated with the remote unlock. Next, go to Autozone or somewhere like that where they have a remote tester. That will tell if the remote is functional. If the remote works and the fuses are good, see if you can find out how to program remotes to it. It may have forgotten the code for that remote.
