Question about 2004 Ford Focus

1 Answer

Erratic idling My car had a front-end accident and after it came back from repairs, it is now idling very erratically. They said it was something to do with air intake on the fuel line or something? Is this a big problem or a cheap n easy one to fix?

I have a 86 ford bronco ii that recently i went to start and the idle was so erratic i thought had a vaccuum leak or something i ended up trying to drive it home and it had no power and would rev up b

I'd replace dist. cap and rotor button. There might also be a crankshaft position sensor near the crank. Might be bad. Also, check the MAP sensor and vacuum to it. don-ohio (:^)

IAC valve @ throttle body regulates the air/fuel idle. its right in front of the throttlebody, replace it, MAP sensor works together with IAC, both could be your problem. everything else you did is good, I feel these items are necessary to put you back in bussiness, just do it !!!

1993 S-10 Blazer has erratic idle and stalls

Check the tps "trottle positioning sensor, on mine the idle would not stay steady, and shift so hard that it would sound like it was going to break something. it is located on the drivers side of the throttle body with a push in electrical connector.

Erratic idle on tick over or when slowing to a stop

I assume petrol? If yes then it sounds like the idle control valve, these are common on VAG

Erratic idle

You need to replace the Vac assembly. As long as it is malfunctioning, you will not pass the MOT. Plus,m after you replace it, the idle and the fuel mileage will get better.

Erratic idle

You need to check for a trouble code, Kragen auto does this for free. Also check for vacuum leaks at the intake manifold.
